WORKSHOPS back

  Contort Feb 15
Posted February 5, 2010

Note: Posted as received.

With a contortion career of over ten years, Jonathan Nosan's ground and aerial contortion work has been seen in film, print, television, and theater.

He has developed a training methodology concentrating on alignment, joint opening, strengthening, and breath. This is a backbending/balancing/body maintenance workshop. Emphasis will be given to shoulder and hip opening as well as back. This workshop is limited to 12 people. Participants must be able to hold a handstand away from the wall for 20 seconds and hold a backbend for 30 seconds.

Participants will experience the contortion high along with a very high likelihood of worm, star, and squiggle visions.

Past private clients include hedge fund owners, martial artists, yogis, strippers, and current Cirque du Soleil artists.

Contortionist Jonathan Nosan graduated UC Berkeley in Asian studies and geography, received a Fulbright to research design of sacred space for two years in Kyoto, changed course and moved to London to study physical theater and circus for a year, then finally spent three years training Chinese contortion hand balancing with Master Trainer Lu Yi in San Francisco.
