  Gym Wheel Weekend (Chicago) Mar 12–14

Turn your world upside down! Get the experience of rolling around on the gym wheel if you've never done it before, or take this opportunity to know more about the wheel in all its aspects! We will be offering multi-skill level workshops, coaching and judging courses, and a US open Competition! All of them approved by the International Wheel Federation (IRV) in Lausanne, Switzerland, and led by Wolfgang Bientzle, an 8-time gym wheel world champion and former Cirque du Soleil performer.

A. Coaching Level I (Full course)
Friday, March 12: 8am–12pm, 1pm–6 pm, 7pm–8:30pm
Saturday, March 13: 2pm–6pm
Sunday, March 14: 9am–12pm. Exam from 1pm–2pm

Fee: $260 per person, and $50 for the certificate from the IRV International Wheel Federation in Lausanne, Switzerland

Subjects:
  • Beginner training for straight-line, spiral, and vault
  • Advanced training for straight-line
  • Basic knowledge for technical execution and set up of routines
  • Studying the path to the first compulsory routine of the USA Wheel Gymnastics Federation
  • General rules and regulations for wheel gymnastics
B. Coaching Level 1 (50%) Part two
Saturday, March 13: 1pm–6pm
Sunday, March 14: 8am–12pm, 1pm–2pm

Fee: $150, and $50 for the certificate from the IRV International Wheel Federation in Lausanne, Switzerland

  • Beginner training for straight-line, spiral, and vault
  • Advanced training for straight-line

C. Coaching Level II. Part two

Fee: $220 per person for the 10 units

  • Advanced training for straight-line
  • Basic knowledge for technical excecution and set up of routines
  • Studying the path to the first compulsory routine of the USA Wheel Gymnastics Federation
  • General rules and regulations for wheel gymnastics
D. Judging course: Basic straight-line, music, and head judge

E. Judging course: Spiral and vault
Friday, March 12: 6pm–8:15pm
Saturday, March 13: 8am–9am, 9:30am–12pm (competitions), 1pm–4pm
The next course will be held in mid October 2010 (straight-line, spiral, head judge, vault, and difficulty)

Fee: $150 per person, and $30 for the certificate from the US Gym Wheel Federation

Subjects:
  • Execution rules for straight-line
  • Mistakes and deductions
  • Rules for routine set up
  • Studying the path to the first compulsory routine of the USA Wheel Gymnastics Federation
  • General rules and regulations for wheel gymnastics
F. Wheel Training Camp: Full workshop
Friday, March 12: 9am–12pm, 2pm–5pm
Saturday, March 13: 2pm–6pm
Sunday, March 14: 9am–12pm
The next camp for training and competition will be held in mid October 2010, for adults and juniors

Fee: $250 per person. The competition is included if you are a participant at the training camp. If you only sign up for the competition the fee will be $30

This training camp will focus and setting up straight-line routines and progress in spiral.

G. Beginner Workshop
Saturday, March 13: 1pm–4pm
The next camp for training and competition will be held in mid October 2010, for adults and juniors

Fee: $60 per person. The competition is included if you are a participant at the training camp. If you only sign up for the competition the fee will be $30

Notes:
You are able to combine course B and C with the judging course D or E.
If you want to combine course B, C, D, or E with the workshop/camp F check in with Wolfgang, and we figure out the fees.

Competition fee: $50 for US Open. CircEsteem tournament is free if you have signed up for any of the weekend courses. Otherwise the fee is $15.
