Beginning level Prerequisite
This class is for students interested in learning basic to intermediate-level skills and tricks on the hoop. We will also work on sequencing of skills, transitions, and technique.
Each class will begin with a warm up and end with conditioning. Maximum of 8 to 10 students.
Stretching & Inversion
When: Saturday, June 20, 2:30–4:30pm

Join Bronwyn Sims, professional actor, acrobat, and aerialist, for a special workshop for all levels. The class utilizes techniques from yoga, dance, circus, and gymnastics and implements them into creative and fun exercises.
We will begin with a gentle but energizing warm up combining yoga and acrobatic stretches that will help to realign the body and release tension. We will then move into working on inverting and learning the basic tools necessary for doing and holding a handstand and other inversions. Bronwyn will lead you through creative and fun exercises to help build upper body strength and bring an element of lightness and playfulness to your arm balancing poses. This workshop is for all levels from those of you who are ready to try your first handstand to those who want to move your inversion practice away from the wall.
The workshop will culminate with core abdominal and shoulder conditioning and strengthening exercises. Sit ups, push ups, and partner conditioning and stretching are all part of this fun and invigorating class! Stretching increases circulation, prevents injury, enhances mood, and promotes improved movement for all your activities. Core and shoulder strengthening exercises make you stronger, improve posture, balance the body, and help maintain self confidence.
