Description:
What would happen if we let go of all we have been socialized to accept as "right" and "wrong" and embraced our unique, internal responses? Shed inhibitions that block pure expression and discover the authentic clown that lives inside each of us with a afternoon workshop in physical comedy.
Drawing from forms such as commedia dell'arte, clown, Grotowski, and traditional theater, we will spend the afternoon doing group and individual exercises aimed at getting you out of your typical box of movement. This class encourages invention, playfulness, generosity, and courage. Whether you are an aerialist looking to find inspiration for a new character or act, or a shy guy or gal looking for a way to challenge yourself this spring, you'll leave this workshop feeling inspired and free. Come play with us!
Please register online at TheSkyBox.org/calendar. Space is limited to a maximum of 12 students.

About the instructors:
Cody Schreger is a New York City Based performing artist and instructor. She has studied a wide range of creative arts from modern and flamenco dance to clown, commedia dell'arte, traditional theater, aerial arts, and gymnastics. Through her training, she discovered that what she love most about contemporary circus is not only the cool tricks, but also the freedom to take a performance to levels of absurdity and physicality that are not recognized in more traditional forms. She aims to bring that freedom of expression to everything she does both in her teaching and performance work. Cody has toured with circus companies such as Cirque Dreams and most recently performed at the internationalc circus festival of Albacete, Spain. For more info please visit codyjs.com.
