Physical Theatre Laboratory (Malta) Apr 27-May 2
Posted February 9, 2009
Note: We don't list most physical theater items we run across, but
the pictures include lots of acrobatics, and the descriptions sound
very circus oriented. Details posted as (and in the British English
as) received.
International Physical Theatre Laboratory
with the Russian theatre director and teacher Sergei Ostrenko
The Lab is open to professional performers from different creative
genres and techniques inspired by Physical Theatre as a bold, vibrant
and multidimensional approach to contemporary theatre performance.
Participants will explore Physicality as the principal creative
instrument. In theatre, dance, circus, or any other kind of
performance, the performer's trained body is inspiring, astonishing,
and surprising to spectator's feelings. The program includes intensive
practical training, lectures, and discussions.
Accommodation in the resort spa hotel (five nights) and meals are
provided for participants.
The Lab will take place in Malta (EU), situated in Southern Europe in
the Mediterranean Sea. Located south of the Italian island of Sicily,
Malta is only a couple of flying hours away from most major European
cities.
