Registration for Lava's Winter Class Session has started. Notice there
are a few new classes: Acrobits on Saturdays, Physical Acting for the
Acrobat, and Acro Balance.

10-Week Session January 12-March 21
Kids Classes
LAVA for Acrobits and their Caregivers
This is a time for kids along with their parent or caregiver to start
learning the joy of going upside down, rolling, and being in a LAVA
class. Grown-ups and acrobits are both acrobats in this class.
Thursdays, 11-11:45am, Ages 3-4 with caregiver
Saturdays, 9:30-10:15am, Ages 3-4 with caregiver
10-Class Session $195
Acrobatics for Kids--Drop-Off Classes
Mixed-level classes that explore LAVA's methods with acrobatics,
trapeze, and composition.
Mondays, 3:45-4:45pm, Ages 5-6
Mondays, 5-6pm, Ages 7-9
Wednesdays, 5-6pm, Ages 5-6
Thursdays, 3:45pm-4:45pm, Ages 6-8
Saturdays, 10:30-11:15am, Ages 3-4
Saturdays, 11:30am-12:30pm, Ages 5-7
Saturdays, 12:45-1:45pm, Ages 8-12
10-Class Session $195
Open Workout for Kids--Free
This class is open to kids with a desire to discover acrobatics
without the full commitment of an entire session, or to practice
skills they've already learned. Open to beginners, newcomers, and
enrolled students.
Wednesday, 3:45-4:45am, Ages 8-12, free
Saturday, 2-3pm, Ages 10-18, free
Adult Classes
Lava Mix
An open-level class that mixes it up from week to week by rotating
teachers and class plan. LAVA company members and other teachers will
bring their particular skills, enthusiasm, and a plan for a 90-minute
physical and creative exploration.
Mondays 6:15-7:45pm
10-Class Session $195, Drop-In $25
Intro to Lava
Designed for beginners, this class is a great introduction to LAVA's
methods with acrobatics, trapeze, and composition.
Tuesdays 8-9:30pm

Acro Balance
An open-level class in which you will learn the joys of acrobatic
basing and flying. You will balance on each other in fun and
interesting ways.
Fridays 6:15-7:45pm
10-Class Session $195, Drop-In $25
Handstands
Mixed-level class that builds strength, agility, and alignment through
the development of a handstand practice.
Mondays 8-9:30pmpm
Wednesdays 6:15-7:45pm
10-Class Session $195, Drop-In $25
The Anchored Buoy: Physical Acting for Everyone
Learn to anchor your body/mind in the present moment and be buoyant
and ready to PLAY! Through this fun yet challenging class, students
will learn how to breathe easier and express more while on stage,
whether they are flying through the air, dancing, "acting" or just
standing there.
Wednesdays 8-9:30pm
10-Class Session $195, Drop-In $25 (No drop-ins after the 3rd week)
Trapeze
Students will learn strength and agility on the trapeze while
exploring the creative possibilities for movement on the
apparatus.
Tuesdays 6:15-7:45pm
10-Class Session $225, No Drop-Ins
Tumbling
Strength and flexibility are the focus as students build power, speed,
and air awareness. Students will learn skills that range from rolling
to flipping.
Saturdays 3:15-4:45pm
10-Class Session $195, Drop-In $25
LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS
The LAVA Studio is located in Prospect Heights at 524 Bergen Street
(between 6th Avenue and Carlton). Take the 2 or 3 to Bergen Street,
the B or Q to 7th Ave, or any Atlantic Avenue subway.
PRICING
Ten-week sessions range from $195 to $225, with a 10% discount for
individuals and families taking more than one class. We offer
work-study for adults and scholarships and financial aid for kids, so
no one will be turned away from classes for lack of funds. Check the
box on the registration form if you are interested in a scholarship or
financial aid for your child.
