New Amy G Show Round She Goes October 18
Posted September 30, 2008

Amy G in Round She Goes
At the Deluxe at Spiegelworld, South Street Seaport
Saturday, October 18, 8pm

About Amy G
Best known and loved by NY audiences as the roller skating comedienne from Absinthe 2006 and Cirkus Inferno at the New Victory Theatre, the irrepressible Amy G now ventures out on her own with the premiere of her new show, Round She Goes.

A whirling comedic tour de force, Round She Goes follows Amy and her attempts, as a recovering perfectionist, to find love and enlightenment within the circles in her life.

Round She Goes is a revolutionary cabaret comedy in every sense accompanied by a mostly live, original musical score composed and performed by Amy G (on ukulele) and accompanied by Jonathan Keay (double bass).

With so much spin, where she stops nobody knows.

Amy G, renowned in YouTube circles as the Kazoo Lady, has been touring the globe for eight years doing revolutionary cabaret comedy. Based in Brooklyn, NY, but rarely there, Ms. G is also well known to Spiegeltent regulars around the world as a slapstick sweetheart. She finds great relief in the ridiculousness of her life.

"I am a highly specialized goofball. But like everybody, I spend half of my time rolling around giggling, and the rest totally freaked out, taking myself too seriously. So, I promote absurdity, because to my mind, it is the key to facing our most difficult challenges. But the real trick is to make philosophical points while tap-dancing on roller skates."

About Round She Goes
Round She Goes is a saucy and skilled cabaret performance with the added value of some seriously penetrating absurdity.

Round She Goes takes on perfectionism as inherently flawed. We are hypnotized by repetitive lifestyles. Regular cycles are comfortably familiar, but also mind numbing. It's the inevitable (yet usually stressful) accidental breaks in our routines: the foul-ups, breakdowns and screw-ups that let nature, inspiration and love into our lives. So why are we still so obsessed by perfection?

Round She Goes will skate around the question to reveal the answer.

Or as Amy says, "It features physical comedy, a bunch of cheeky songs that I wrote, bad-ass roller-skating, existential examination, an audience make-out sesh (bring a date, or test your luck!), and some seriously penetrating absurdity."
