The Maestrosities: Caught in the Zipper July 7
Posted June 27, 2008
Note: The first two shows in this series were both terrific--and
so well attended that the group is moving into the much-nicer main
theater (from the basement space). This is the last show before spoons
player Glen "Aldo" Heroy leaves to join the Big Apple Circus main
show. Highly recommended. Posted as received.
This one will be an exceptional show . . .
Expect the unexpected . . .
-Caught in the Zipper!

What
The Maestrosities are a fictional band who perform a real variety show
loaded with character-driven comedy, hilarious dysfunction, excellent
music, and top-notch variety acts. Imagine Spinal Tap meets The
Muppets. The band is portrayed by six of New York City's top
clown-comedians who collaborate as a well-oiled comic team to bring
you the most exciting and genre-bending evening you can find in NYC.
Period. Previously selected as The Village Voice's "Voice
Choice."
We've got new songs, new guests, and a new stage at the Zipper!
And we've got surprises up our sleeves!
Who
This time around, our special guest is the incredible Amy G,
revolutionary cabaret comedienne described by Clive Barnes as "a comic
actress of great gifts" Also on the bill is Torkova, a mind-boggling
mentalist who promises to unlock your thoughts! Finally, there just
might be a very exciting surprise mystery guest!
Perhaps Torkova will be able to predict who it is . . .
