Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of All Ages!
Each July, the big news is in juggling. This year there's a bad
news-good news counterpoint for you manipulative maniacs:
1. Bad news: The Carmine St. juggling club remains closed indefinitely
for some mysterious repairs and maintenance. The staff says "they were
supposed to be done already," which apparently means all bets are off
as to when the gyms will re-open. We'll try to keep you posted, but
it's moment-by-moment, so your best bet is to call the Rec. Center:
212-242-5228.
2. Good news: Who needs Carmine? We're off to the International
Jugglers' Association festival in Lexington, KY. Find more info at juggle.org, and come if
you can.
Speaking of the NYC Juggling Club, check out the awesome new Carmine
songs written and performed by Guru Andy Eisner. They're available for
free download on the JuggleNYC.com Carmine info
page.
In less juggly news, there's a new circus-themed show on Broadway, the Happy Hour clowns are appearing in NYC, the NY Goofs have opened registration for their annual Ultimate Clown Class, and there's plenty more to do right here in the hot city.
Finally, we send our best wishes to John Grimaldi for a speedy and complete recovery from his recent stilt accident. Everybody please remember to be careful out (up) there, and John, we hope to be juggling with you again in no time.
That's it for this month. Keep flipping, tossing, and tumbling!
From your friends,
Cynthia & Viveca
