Youth Circus Research Study
Posted March 17, 2011
Jackie Davis and Jen Agans need you to take their circus research survey, which can be found at surveymonkey.com/s/AYCO.
Different circus programs have different goals and different needs, but there are some things that all youth circus practitioners need to know (above and beyond the teaching of circus skills). In September 2010, twenty-five youth circus arts program directors, teachers, and practitioners, led by Jackie Davis, Ed.M., gathered at the biennial educator’s conference of the American Youth Circus Organization at the New England Center for Circus Arts in Brattleboro, Vermont to identify, discuss, and recommend core competencies in their profession.
The Core Competencies Research Survey asks you to what extent these competencies are currently in practice in your organization and how important you think they are to the youth circus profession. Help define what it means to be a professional in youth circus!
With the information collected in this survey, AYCO hopes to be able to better meet your needs as youth circus educators, and the results of the survey will be published for AYCO members.
