Obsession Feb 23
Posted February 9, 2012
The month of February reeks of love, lust, and passion while politely tiptoeing around the more subversive motif—Obsession. The closest that February is comfortable getting to this concept is the Calvin Klein fragrance.

We ambushed a random sample of people and interrogated them on the topic of obsession. The majority leaned heavily towards the negative. "Obsession" brought forth anecdotes of extreme OCD and worse: Joan Rivers going under the knife 739 times, the demise of Howard Hughes, hoarders, Toddlers and Tiaras (and the grown men who watch the show), and last but certainly not least plucking one's hair out until you're balding and then rubbing it gently against one's bottom lip. All in all, most felt that anything from so deep within our psyche and spilling so frantically into the world around us is uncontrollable, unpredictable, uncomfortable, and unsettling.

But nothing in this world is all bad. Let us now look on the bright
side: Sure, it can bring out the worst in the someone, but can't it
also bring out the best? What about becoming fixated on problems in order to find solutions? And isn't a certain level of obsession necessary to become not just good at something but a true master of one's craft? Is obsession not one of the main catalysts that perpetuates the advancement of humanity?!

As everyone spends all of their February being all cute and
sugar-coated, we at the Sky Box @ House of Yes will be picking, prying, and peering into something way more elaborate. And of course, there will always be great fanfare, sexy people, and only the most death-defying and impressive aerial acts.
