JuggleNYC and CircusNYC provided centralized information websites for New York City’s juggling and circus artists and aficionados from 2004 through 2020, publishing one to three new items almost every day and distributing the monthly Cascade of News email newsletter from 2005 through 2013.

Founders Cynthia Aviance Raushchert and Viveca Gardiner created these resources as active community hubs to connect circus and variety artists, industry professionals, people who wanted to hire them, fans, students, audience members, and hobbyists by sharing information on events, activities, resources, and news.

We are delighted that in the decades since these sites launched, the Internet has developed new forms of “social media” and new opportunities for community and connection. More recently of course, a global pandemic has made local listings almost entirely obsolete as shows, workshops, and other activities have moved online, making them globally accessible. As of 2021, CircusNYC and JuggleNYC are suspending operations indefinitely.

We love and appreciate the circus community, not just in New York City but around the world, who have written over the years to let us know how they found a gig, a juggling club, a show, an audience, a festival a workshop, a job, a specialty prop, or another connection through these websites.
